Anthros’ story began in 1995, when Anurag Dandiya had the dream of pursing a career with a cause. Realizing that human capital is the highest expense for businesses and providing a platform to manage human capital would remain a necessity, he decided to pursue a career in the Human Resources Outsourcing industry.Businesses often secure multiple vendors to manage their human capital.
Anurag Dandiya was born in India. Mr. Dandiya’s father Mr. Subhash Dandiya, served the Indian Air Force in three wars as a fighter pilot and retired as a decorated Commanding Officer at the age of 52.
Anurag attended The Air Force School (est: 1955) in New Delhi, India and went on to attend the eliteSt. Stephens College known to produce a long line of distinguished alumni since being established in 1881 by Cambridge University, England.
While at The Air Force Boarding School and St. Stephens, Mr. Dandiya was an avid competitor. Anurag represented both his alma mater and several local clubs in cricket. During his senior year, Anurag was appointed The Air Force School Cricket Team Captain and led his team to win several domestic & international championships. Anurag participated in the fist ever Himalayan Car Rally at the age of 16, which is now known as the toughest rally event in Asia.
After completing his education at St. Stephens and graduating with a degree in Business Administration, Anurag traveled through Europe to broaden his cultural awareness visiting 18 countries in 12 months finally settling in the United States.
In 1996, Anurag Dandiya decided to pursue a career in Human Resource Outsourcing and gained notoriety by acquiring rapid market share while consistently re-engineering his operational service delivery model and developing professionals that are recognized as the premier team in the industry. Anurag has served as the Executive Vice President, Director, and held senior leadership positions at the largest HR outsourcing companies with annual revenues in excess of $1.2 Billion. During his tenure, Mr. Dandiya spearheaded three major acquisitions, each over $100 million.
Mr. Dandiya’s insight within the Human Capital Management discipline and unique ability to customize operational scope of service resulted in the largest contract known in the industry. Anurag negotiated a single contract with a five-year term in the healthcare industry generating revenue over $400 million.
To further his growth, in 2011 Mr. Dandiya began attending Vistage International, an organization that coaches leaders to take their companies to the next level. That same year, Anurag was awarded “Rookie of the Year” in the Ferrari Club Racing Association and has since won several podium finishes. In 2012, 10 days after the passing of Anurag’s father, he went on to win the celebrated Daytona Race in the 360 Ferrari Challenge.
Mr. Dandiya lives with his son Aidan and they both enjoy traveling the world.
Ed Whalley serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Anthros Inc. An accomplished leader with more than 25 years experience in the human resources and hospitality industries, Ed comes to Anthros with a distinguished record of achieving profitability and operational excellence. In his role as CFO, Ed oversees business development, financial operations and compliance, and also works closely with the CEO on strategic planning and scaling operations to support the company’s growth.
Before joining Anthros, Ed served as CFO and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at a large golf course management company, where he managed all aspects of financial services and planning, business development and compliance for more than 25 golf clubs. He has also been a business development executive at one of the largest HR outsourcing companies in the United States. During his tenure, the company grew by $40 million. Ed has also held leadership positions at other major golf management companies, including Kitson & Partners Club Services, whose portfolio reaches from Central Florida to Hawaii, and Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, where he started career. In addition to his expertise in finance, operations, sales and management, Ed brings to Anthros a commitment to transparency and team building. He lives in Orlando with his wife Leslie, a professor at Adventist University of Health Sciences, and his two daughters, Lauren and Megan.
Prior to joining Anurag’s team is 1997; Ms. Helen Usher was the Manager, Proof Department at Barnett Bank. Ms. Usher was responsible for millions of checks going through the bank and was responsible for the validity of each transaction worth millions of Dollars clearing accounts each day.
In 1997 Ms. Usher was named the Director of Benefits for a 14,000 employee HR Outsourcing Company and was the Trustee of six 401(K) retirement plans with $30 million is assets. Helen was also responsible for the administration of 140 client Health Insurance Plans with premiums in access of $12 million annually.
In 2002 Anurag appointed Ms. Usher as the Director of Operations. Helen excelled within this role by building the foundation of “Excellence in Human Capital Management” by creating customized service delivery platforms for clients in 31 states. Ms. Usher led the service team by setting the example delivering “high touch” experience to each client. Helen has facilitated an on going training & development program for the service team which led to 98% client retention and further enabled growth by gaining referrals due to high service levels. During Helens tenure as operational lead, 60% of new clients were generated from referrals.
To offer Anthros client companies the most seasoned, sound & experienced consultation regarding Affordable Care Act (ACA), Helen Usher has been appointed as the Director of Benefits. Ms. Ushers experience, knowledge base regarding Insurance Products, Retirement Planning will further enhance Anthros client and client employee experience.
Helen makes it a point to visit a new country each year and has done so for 20 years. Helen’s ability to comfortably interact and listen arises from exposure to multiple cultures over the past two decades. Helen’s late husband Freddy was a native from the Island of Bermuda. Helen still visits the island often. Helen is a proud mother of a daughter and 2 sons and resides in Maitland, Florida.
Bill Edwards joined Anthros Inc. as Director of Legal Affairs in 2014. Mr. Edwards has worked closely with the Anthros team since 2005 and has believed in the Anthros vision for nearly a decade.
Mr. Edwards has significant experience managing corporate, commercial and employment practices liability insurance claims. Prior to joining Anthros Inc, Mr. Edwards served Of Counsel in the Tampa office of Broad and Cassel as well as Director of Legal Services for a national Professional Employment Organization.
Mr. Edwards has defended clients from charges of discrimination brought before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), various human rights commissions and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. He has also represented clients in wage claims before the Department of Labor. Mr. Edwards is well-versed in labor and employment law and provides EEOC compliance training and strategic advice for the human resources departments of organizations.
Edwards received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Florida Southern College. While in college, he achieved many honors and served as commencement speaker for his graduating class.
Mr. Edwards is an active member of various professional and community organizations, including FAPEO, NAPEO and the Legal Advisory Council for the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO). Edwards joins 41 other industry professionals from some of the leading professional employer organizations (PEOs) across the United States. He is one of only four representatives from the Tampa Bay area on the council.
